In a recent retreat Bentinho Massaro (founder of the Trinfinity Academy, which is a free online school for enlightenment and empowerment, www.trinfinityacademy.com), he brought forward this chart that had two columns. The first had Consuming written at the top of it with the following characteristics listed: Gratification, relief, distraction, reacting, get, and dependent on circumstances and time. The second column had Creating written at the top with the following characteristics listed: Satisfaction, joy, expression, freedom, give, self-sourced, and present.
What came forward in the last class that I facilitated, is this added element of where we've been taught or conditioned or even guided by others to be consumers and producers. Even the question: What do you want? Is often erring on the side of getting something, or consuming something. Both what Bentinho introduced and what came forward during the class, inspired the question: What would it be like to truly know ourselves as creators? It's one thing to be told you creator your life, or your life is your creation, or you create everything. It's another thing to truly KNOW that we are creators. And, what would it be like to unravel, deconstruct, and release all consumer and producer mentalities so that we can know ourselves beyond that? Another thing that came up during the class was looking at the transactional realities that are based in giving and taking, or being based on deciding what someone has to to give to get what they want, which has the energy of consumption woven into it. There is also a reality where "good" people give a lot and take a little and "bad" people give a little and take a lot, so good people tend to have less than bad or greedy people. Many of us are waking up from all these versions of reality and freeing ourselves from these judgments and ways of participating or interacting. We're here knowing it can be different, and that it doesn't have to be this way. We can step into something greater, where we can truly give and receive. Receiving replaces taking and is about truly honoring, acknowledging and accepting the gifts people, places and things are for us as well as inviting and allowing nourishment, love and support. Gifting and receiving can occur in simultaneity. What do you know about living beyond the producer and consumer mentalities? What do you know about creating? I wonder how much more we can come together and explore these new ways of being, and acknowledge the abundance and prosperity we house or have within us that is just waiting for us to commit to calling it forward and expressing it. May we all be inspired and supported as we embrace who and where we are now and welcome our greatness to manifest in form in a multitude of ways. Here is a poem that I wrote in 2011 that's coming to mind as I explore this topic: New Space Clearing the space Opening it to new possibilities People arriving with their visions Intensions overlapping Expanding what was Embracing what is It’s time to create Awakening latent potential Harnessing skills, passions and abilities Generating momentum Uplifting the whole Sharing authentic gifts Inspiration abounds The next wave has begun Carrying all of us forward into new realms of Being, new ways of Doing No turning back now It’s all here Waiting to come to life to be seen and known
